🔍 Course Overview
The ATMANAM Internship Program in Counselling and Psychotherapy offers a comprehensive, hands-on learning experience for aspiring counsellors, psychologists, and psychotherapists. It blends in-depth theoretical learning with guided practical exposure to equip participants with the skills and confidence required for effective therapeutic practice.
Conducted by S. M. P. Staney, M.Sc., M.P.C., R.M.P., Senior Counsellor and Psychotherapist with over 18 years of clinical experience, this internship integrates online theory, live demonstrations, supervised practice, and fieldwork to provide a complete 180-hour learning experience.
🗓️ Program Schedule (February– April 2026)
Phase 1: Online Theory Sessions
📅 February 2nd – 27, 2026
🕗 7:00 PM – 8:15 PM (Monday to Friday | Excluding weekends)
This phase builds a strong theoretical foundation in counselling and psychotherapy. Each of the four interactive modules focuses on essential therapeutic principles, frameworks, and methods that guide real-world clinical practice.

- Counselling Skills & Case Conceptualization
- Psychotherapy Essentials (Gestalt, Exposure, Emotion Work)
- Advanced Counselling (Diagnosis & Intervention)
- Cognitive Therapies (CBT, REBT & Thought Restructuring)
By the end of Phase 1, participants will be equipped with frameworks, assessment tools, and practical models applicable in counselling sessions.
Phase 2: Residential Practicum & Supervision

🧠 In-Person Intensive Training with Supervised Practice & Peer Engagement
Each practicum module combines skill-based training, live therapy demonstrations, group therapy practice, and personal feedback sessions.

• Diagnostic interviewing and therapeutic presence
• Building rapport, MSE, and reframing techniques
• Real-case roleplays and peer feedback
📅 March 13 – 15, 2026 | Module 2: Training in Psychotherapies
• Gestalt, Exposure, Focusing, and Integrative Approaches
• Techniques like Anchoring, Systematic Desensitization, and VKD
• Couple Counselling and therapy planning practice
📅 April 17 – 19, 2026 | Module 3: Cognitive Therapies – CBT & REBT
• Mastering REBT & CBT techniques
• Live demonstrations of the ABC model, Disputation, and Restructuring
• Peer simulations and diagnostic skill practice

- Total Duration: 180 Hours
- Online Theory + 3 In-Person Modules
- Fieldwork and Casework: 20 hours (to be completed within one month of each module)
- Supervised Practice & Live Case Demonstrations: 30 hours per module

- Personal Online Colloquium with the course leader at the start of each module
- Final Online Evaluation before certification
