Course Overview

The ATMANAM Internship Program in Counselling and Psychotherapy provides a comprehensive, hands-on learning experience for aspiring counselors, psychologists, and psychotherapists. With a blend of in-depth theoretical knowledge and practical application, the program equips participants with the skills necessary to start a successful career in therapy.

The course comprises approximately 180 hours, including:

• 120 Hours of Live & Practical Training
• 20 Hours of Fieldwork and Casework
• 30 Hours of Supervised Practice

Key Highlights

• Total Duration: 180 hours
• Fieldwork and Case Work: 20 hours (to be completed within one month of Phase 2)
• Supervised Practice & Live Case Demonstrations: 30 hours per module
• Case Conceptualization Training
• 6 Case Reports to be submitted via email between modules
• One personal online colloquium with course leader at the start of each Phase 2 module
• Final Online Evaluation before certification

PHASE 1 – ONLINE TRAINING

September 22 – October 17, 2025
Live Zoom Sessions | Monday–Friday | 7:00–8:15 PM
30 Hours | 4 Weeks

This foundational phase builds essential therapeutic skills and theoretical frameworks.
Can be taken independently. Ideal for those seeking online certification only.

Module 2: Psychotherapy Approaches (September 8 – 12)
• Focusing, Gestalt, Exposure Therapy
• Anchoring & Cognitive Structuring
• VKD Model, Systematic Desensitization
• Couple Counselling Introduction

Module 3: Advanced Counselling – Diagnosis & Intervention (September 15 – 19)
• Assessing & Diagnosing Emotional and Relational Issues
• Practical Intervention Planning
• Multimodal Integration for Diverse Client Needs
• Practice with Role-Plays and Supervision

Module 4: Cognitive Therapies – CBT & REBT (September 22 – 26)
• REBT: ABC Model, Disputation, Irrational Beliefs
• CBT: Beliefs, Distortions, NATs
• Cognitive Restructuring
• Comparative Analysis of CBT & REBT

E-Certificate provided for those who complete only the online phase (Phase 1).

 

PHASE 2 – RESIDENTIAL PRACTICUM

October 25-27 | Module 2: Advanced Counselling Skills

• Diagnostic interviewing and therapeutic presence
• Deep-dive into MSE, case formulation, and reframing
• Real-case roleplays with feedback

November 7-9| Module 3: Integrative Psychotherapy Approaches

• Gestalt, Exposure, Focusing, and Multimodal Integration
• Techniques like Anchoring, Systematic Desensitization, and VKD
• Practice in Couple Counselling and therapy planning

December 5-7 | Module 1: Cognitive Therapies – CBT & REBT

• Practical mastery of REBT & CBT techniques
• Live demonstrations of ABC model, Disputation, and Restructuring
• Peer case simulations and diagnostic practice

 

Includes:

• Live Therapy Demonstrations
• Case Supervision and Clinical Feedback
• Peer Practice with Guided Mentorship

Requirements:

• Submit 6 Case Reports
• Attend 1 Online Colloquium per Module
• Participate in Final Evaluation for Certification

Certification awarded upon successful completion of both phases.
